The Real Steel Street Eliminator series has been running for a long time; previously known as the Custom Car Street Eliminator, it is one of the most exciting classes of drag racing in Europe. Road legal cars running low 8 second laps on street tyres at speeds in excess of 180mph in just 1320 ft. All of these cars have working lights, wipers, windows exactly the same as your everyday drive-to-work, drive-it-home car taxed, MOT, insurance.
I could spend a long time trying to give you all the history of street racing and the street eliminator series and probably get most of it wrong! So I recommend this history composed by Ian Fats Hook, a Street Eliminator, Super Pro and WSR competitor and all round good bloke.
